Impatient

Impatient

Oh, how impatient we were...

When we decided we were ready for children,
We couldn't wait to get pregnant.

When we thought we were pregnant,
We couldn't wait to feel the changes
For our first taste of morning ,
for feeling extra tired,
for feeling extra hungry,
for feeling the new life inside.

When we found out we were pregnant,
We couldn't wait to feel you grow.
To see the first picture of you,
To hear your heartbeat,
To feel your first kicks,
To feel the new life inside.

When we found out your due date,
We couldn't wait until you were born.
So we could hold you,
So we could smell you,
So we could touch you,
So we could love you.

When we realized we had lost you,
We wanted to stop the hands of time.
Le us go back and slow everything down,
So we can cherish every precious moment we had with you.

Because while your Mom and Dad were impatient,
You were even more so.
You didn't have the time to be here with us,
You couldn't wait to reach Heaven.
